Our Policies

CONSULTATIONS: Initial consultations are free and take approximately 30 minutes. We take down pet and contact information, while reviewing your pets’ daily routines and needs. We require a signed contract before we can care for your pet. Unless there are major changes to discuss, you will be charged the price of one visit for us to come back for a 2nd consultation. If you are not positive that you have told us everything and want to go over it, please send us an email.

KEYS: We prefer to hold onto your key for future visits. Keys that are not being used are stored in a locked key box. Keys are never labeled with your last name or address. We will gladly pick your key up one time at no charge. After that, there will be a $5 charge for drop off or pick up.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Please contact us 24 hours before the first visit. If you arrive home early or are leaving later than scheduled, please call to save us any unnecessary trips and avoid being charged. For mid-day walks, please contact us by 10am. You will be charged the full visit price if you wait to cancel until we arrive at your house.

VISITING HOURS: We visit your pet(s) between 7am - 9:30pm, M-Su. We are unable to guarantee exact times for visits however we generally perform visits within an hour of the time requested.

*For dogs we try to space visits no more than 6 hours apart. Single cat visits are done at our convenience, unless otherwise agreed upon.

NEW CLIENTS: We ask that new clients give at least 10 days notice so we can schedule an initial consultation.

VACATIONERS: Please book at least 3-4 weeks in advance.

MID-DAY WALKS and INDIVIDUAL VISITS: Please give at least 24 hours notice. Less than 24 hours notice will be charged $3 in addition to the regular price.

ADMINISTERING OF MEDICATION: We are experienced at administering pills and liquid medication. We can give injections for an additional charge. If your cat has a tendency to hide or become aggressive, it may not be possible to medicate him/her. If you think your cat may hide please keep him/her in a room where we will be able to get to him/her.

SICK PETS: We do not knowingly accept sitting assignments with sick pets. We firmly believe that sick pets belong under the constant care of a veterinarian. However, if you have aged, infirm, or medicated pets, this is not a problem if you discuss with us the special needs of the pet. If your pet shows signs of illness, we will attempt to reach you and take the pet to your veterinarian. The vet transport fee is $35 within 6 miles. If your vet is not available, or if it is after hours, we will take your pet to the Bulger Animal Hospital in North Andover or the nearest hospital available.

**We respond to emails within 24 hours. Phone calls are normally returned within 4 hours. We are usually out walking dogs from 10:30am - 3pm, M-Su. During busy times, it may take up to 24 hours for us to return your call. Office hours are from 9am-8pm, M-F, & 10am-6pm, Sa-Su.
